The traditional coastal village of Horto, is situated on the west side of the Pelion Peninsula at the seafront of the beautiful Pagasitic Gulf. At a distance of only 46 km from the city of Volos it is very easy to reach, as you travel along the coast. The village of Horto is built amongst large olive groves, which lead all the way down to the beautiful beach. The coast is one of the most beautiful of the Pelion and the clean, cool sea waters here are perfect for a refreshing, enjoyable swim during the hot summer months. There are several beaches at Horto, and even the beach of the neighbour village Milina is only 3 km away. Horto brings together a perfect blend of relaxation and harmony, and the scenery of the green plants and olive groves, leading all the way down to the blue waters of the Pagasitic Gulf are enchanting and makes it the perfect place for a holiday. One of the interesting places to visit is the museum of Aggelimis in the village, where you can find old and traditional precious objects, such as books, tools and relics. The neighbouring village of Milina offers a great choice of tavernas, shops and lively atmosphere. Leda is perfect situated to go on enjoyable day-trips to explore more of the Pelion. There are lots of possibilities as churches with beautiful fresco's and icons, the monasteries and the traditional villages and of course the great green mountain landscape and the wonderful beaches of the Pelion Peninsula. From Leda complex you have the option to make excursions to Skiathos island, Trikeri island which is situated at the end of Pelion peninsula, go for a swim at one of the Aegian or Pagassetic gulf beaches, participate in the traditional fairs of Pelion villages, drive around Pelion, visit the traditional villages Portaria, Makrinitsa, Vizitsa, Tsagarada etc, take a ride in the traditional Pelion train, visit the historical Paou monastery, make long walks in the mountain paths surrounded by lush vegetation, rent a motor boat to visit the islands of Alatas, Prasouda etc, go for horse-riding in Argalasti or you can do neither of these and stay and relax in the swimming pool or at the hotel's beach.
